Diet and Exercise BS/MS

The Diet and Exercise curriculum is an accelerated academic program which leads to both the Bachelor of Science (BS) and Master of Science (MS) degrees upon completion. This program includes course work which leads to both of the following:

  • Dietitian credentials
  • The ability to become a health fitness instructor through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)

If you are interested in earning two degrees (BS and MS) within a 5-year academic program, and you want to prepare as both a diet and exercise specialist, this program might be for you.

Registered dietitian: Becoming a registered dietitian (RD) requires successful completion of the dietetics program, an accredited internship, and a national exam.

See the Diet and Exercise overview (on the College of Human Sciences website) and the Diet and Exercise program site (on the Food Science and Human Nutrition department site) for more details.
