Research Interests

My research is focused on Identity Theory and its application to understanding sports fan and exercise adherence behavior. I am interested in the reciprocal relationship between role identities such as fan or exerciser and behavior. I have also investigated sports career socialization, as well as sexism and racism in sport.

I teach courses relating to the sociology and social analysis of sport and physical activity. I have also taught courses related gender roles in sport and social psychological aspects of sport and physical activity.
