Job Responsibilities


Advising

I advise approximately 200 undergraduate transfer students in the following career tracks: community/public health, general studies, health/fitness management and exercise science. I also advise all physical education licensure students beginning their freshman year and assist them through the teacher education program application process. I assist students in schedule planning, transfer credit evaluations, career exploration, professional development activities and to meet graduation requirements.


Teaching

I teach a Policies and Procedures in Kinesiology and Health course to transfer students. This course helps students make the transition to Iowa State University, assists them in identifying the option/career track within Kinesiology, developing a program of study and applying ISU policies and procedures.


Administrative

I serve on the department Teacher Education Committee and the College of Human Sciences Advising Committee. I coordinate the department Admissions Partnership Program and assist with student recruiting and retentions efforts. I also assist with freshman and transfer orientation, meet regularly with prospective students, and assist with other advising and department activities.


Personal Interests

I play softball, volleyball, basketball, tennis, and golf. I enjoy outdoor activities, taking walks with my dogs. attending women's basketball games, and reading. I also have 2 children, a son-in-law, and 3 grand-puppies and love spending time with all of them.
