Job Responsibilities

Advising

I advise approximately 200 undergraduate students in the following career tracks: community/public health, general studies, health/fitness management and exercise science. I work with mostly junior and senior students and assist them in schedule planning, professional development activities and to meet graduation requirements.

Teaching

I teach a Field Experience and Job Search Strategies course to junior and senior students. This course prepares students for seeking internships, jobs and/or to enter professional school following graduation from ISU.

Other Work

I serve on the department Scholarship/Awards committee, Curriculum committee and various College and University committees that relate to services provided to undergraduate students.

I am in charge of the publicity materials and events which showcase the department to prospective students, parents and other groups interested in knowing what the department does.

I work with students who would like to study abroad and have participated in leading programs that take students abroad (Sport and Culture in Malaysia, On Becoming a Global Citizen in Salzburg, Austria).

I coordinate the activities of the three-person advising staff of the department.

Personal Interests

I play golf and bowl; I enjoy yoga and other fitness activities and love my dog.
