Every year, the Iowa State Dance Program plays host to a number of performances large and small.

The year begins with "Style, Attitude, and Class" (S.A.C.), a mini-concert hosted by Orchesis I.  This is followed shortly by "Footfalls," a fall studio concert,  by Orchesis II with dances from many of the fall dance classes. In January, dancers from Orchesis II join the 
 

S.A.C. (Style-Attitude-Class)

Orchesis I dancers introduce themselves to the ISU community every fall semester performing a variety of modern, hip hop, and jazz dances. Join us in the Maintenance Shop (in the Memorial Union) on a Sunday afternoon or evening in October for this fun performance.

Footfalls
Orchesis II dancers are joined by Janice Baker and Taryn Packheiser's fall classes for a fun eclectic studio concert. Join us in the Betty Toman Studio Theater (Forker 196) in early November for an evening of Tap, Jazz, Modern, and anything else you can think of!

Madrigal Dinners
Orchesis II dancers join the men and women of the Iowa State Music department for a candlelit 17th century banquet hall filled with the ambiance of a festive Renaissance English court. The banquet will be “attended” by graceful dancers, playful jesters, strolling musicians, frolicking fools and gallivanting wenches. Join us in the Great Hall every January for this delightful event.

Barjche

Presented in February in Fischer Theater of Iowa State Center, our premier performance showcases choreography and dance performances by ISU students and faculty. Barjche includes the work of a guest choreographer performed by members of Orchesis I.

Images of Dance
Orchesis II dancers are once again joined by class students for a studio concert held in the Betty Toman Studio Theater. This concert includes student choreographed pieces as well as guest choreography. 

  • Auditions for Images of Dance are scheduled for February 13, at 7:00 pm in Forker 196.
  • Images of Dance 2007: April 15 in Forker 196. Shows at 5:30 and 7:30 pm. Guest choreographers for this year are Megan Zipse and Melissa Van Osdel.
